In a campaign or advocating, an individual or a small group can achieve a great success by working in collaboration with others even when they are unable to achieve the goal separately. JVC forms a network by themes or activity areas in cooperation with other NGOs and individuals.

Summary of activities

1) Japan Campaign to Ban Landmines (JCBL)

JCBL strongly supports the Convention on total Ban of Antipersonnel Mines(Ottawa Treaty) and appeal to the international community to ratify this convention. We support activities to clear land mines and rehabilitation assistance to victims in addition to the mine risk education from a humanitarian standpoint.

2) People's Forum on Cambodia, Japan

Although Cambodia launched reconstruction process in the beginning of 1990, it has not been easy because of a shortage of work forces due to the prolonged civil war as well as land mines, destroyed irrigation facilities and deforestation. JVC speaks out and advocates with other NGOs so that Cambodian people can take the initiative in reconstruction and development.

3) Relief Campaign Committee for Children

Please refer to the North Korea page.

4) ODA (Official Development Assistance) reform network

The network aims at a reform of the ODA. It is working for transforming the present disputable ODA into the one that contributes to the self-sufficiency of the developing countries, and that accepts people's participation and information disclosure. Currently, it is targeting on the legislation of the ODA fundamental law.
